Mobius loop
EU-wideGeneric universal recycling symbol. Indicates the object can, in principle, be recycled.
Public domain. Safe to use on any packaging. Often paired with a percentage (e.g. 80%) indicating recycled content.
Free library of the most-used EU packaging icons. Public-domain marks (Mobius loop, Tidyman, Resin codes) are downloadable as SVG or PNG; trademarked marks (Triman, Info-Tri, Der Grüne Punkt) link to their official source.
It depends on country. France requires Triman + Info-Tri on all packaging (Décret n° 2014-1577 + Loi AGEC). Italy requires the environmental label under DL 152/2006. Spain and Germany no longer require on-pack marks as long as you are registered with the PRO (ECOEMBES / LUCID). Generic marks like the Mobius loop and Tidyman are never mandatory but are widely used.
No. Der Grüne Punkt and Punto Verde are trademarked by PRO EUROPE. Only licensees of a participating PRO (ECOEMBES, DSD, etc.) may display the mark, and even then the 2009 German reform removed the on-pack requirement. When in doubt, don't put it on the pack — you can still be fully compliant.
Triman is the single logo indicating that the product is subject to producer responsibility; Info-Tri is the sorting-instruction block that tells consumers which bin each component goes in. As of 2023, Loi AGEC requires BOTH on packaging sold in France. Citeo provides the Info-Tri artwork free to member producers.
Not without permission. Trademark holders typically provide the official asset for free but require it to be used exactly as supplied (colours, proportions, minimum size). For Triman, Info-Tri, Green Dot, and CONAI labels, download the official file from the rights-holder and don't modify it.
Yes. The RIC system is an open standard (ASTM D7611/D7611M) in the public domain. Any producer can apply them to plastic packaging without permission. They identify the polymer, not the recyclability — for example, PVC (code 3) is labelled but rarely recycled in consumer streams.
Pack Declare attaches the correct Triman / Info-Tri / CONAI / country-specific icons to each declaration automatically based on your BOM materials and sales countries — no manual per-SKU tagging.
